This financial year South Devon Rural Housing has allocated £2,000 to further community development work. We have issued a challenge to all communities where we have housing stock, to put forward ideas for community development. To date we have had a number of responses in relation to work or activities which help to improve ecology or contribute to energy efficiency. We have already allocated funds to water economy and recycling projects for a number of housing schemes which will mean that 30 homes will have a water butt fitted and/or a composting butt. We have also provided planters, raised beds and packets of vegetable seeds to get people started 'Growing their Own'
